Already, the holiday season is upon us. It’s a time for transition; it’s a time for change. And as such, it’s time for me to think about things. Most of all, I’ve been thinking about what exact direction to take this blog in.
There are several ways to create an “otaku blog”, and several tones to consider. Should I sprinkle sarcasm and jokes throughout my posts at the expense of content and reputation? Or should I keep the discussion largely professional and intellectual, and thus, boring? Should it be like an everyday conversation like how I‘m writing now, or should I write each and every post like a college thesis?
Content is important to consider too. Should I have mainly reviews in my site? Should I report on and provide my opinion about various happenings in the video game/anime industry? Should I have a “journal” functionality that includes events of my personal life as well? Should I include downloads of the shows/music I talk about? Or should I just scrap all the writing together and make this primarily a download site?
As you can see, in regards to this site, I have indeed reached an impasse. I’m having trouble figuring out what I want this site to be for the foreseeable future. That is why, as you can tell in my previous posts, I’ve kind of been trying out all of the above and seeing what works. But perhaps you guys can help me. What do you think I’ve done right and wrong so far? Leave me a comment with your criticism. Don’t worry, I can take it J
Hmmm…let’s see…in news, I’ve been working on a formal article on Maburaho. I start talking about something like how primary typical human relationships are depicted through the 3 main heroines , and then I go off on a tangent on harem series in general. Don’t know when it will be done because I like to take my time on things that I want to look at least halfway decent. I’ve also got more Box Reviews brewing, so look forward to that. I’d also like to make a humorous tongue-in-cheek post on Umineko at some point, probably after I finish EP4.
Seitokai no Ichizon just finished, and the ending was great. Overall, it was a brilliant series. I have a feeling there won’t be another one like that for a while. And sadly after viewing the end, it doesn’t look like there will be any more T_T. Oh well I want the light novels here NAO.
Game-wise I’m 95% through the first Crash Bandicoot now. Getting all the gems is way tougher than Crash 2 or 3, because you can’t die. Look at my RamenPoodle account on YouTube to see the excitement unfold there.
Also, Christmas happened. I got a 1 TB external hard drive, EVA 1.01, Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! Seasons 2 and 3, and The Hangover. Also got a lot of Japanese gummies. 😀
So in conclusion stuff is good right now. I’m thinking about stuff, and working on stuff, and watching and playing stuff. I head to Orlando for Christmas vacation the day after tomorrow, we’re gonna go see Disney and Universal and the like. Should be a blast. OK! So, signing off! じゃあ、また！
